I’ve been sitting here thinking about how to write this for a while now, because when you’re creating something that comes so deeply from your heart, it can feel strangely difficult to explain where it all began.
But I think the simplest way to describe Aurora Butterfly is this:
It was created from a longing for softness.
Softness in a world that often feels loud, rushed, overwhelming, and emotionally exhausting.
Aurora Butterfly became my little creative sanctuary — a place filled with imagination, calm, creativity, cozy fantasy, and quiet moments of peace. And somewhere along the way, it slowly began growing into a space for other people who needed that softness too.
So before we dive into the magic behind the brand, I thought I’d properly introduce myself first.
I’m a creative, free-spirited soul living on a farm in South Africa with my wonderful family, our four dogs, and a small flock of chickens that somehow manage to bring chaos and joy at the exact same time.

Some days are peaceful and slow, filled with golden sunsets, muddy boots, barking dogs, and quiet moments outside that make my heart feel full.
Other days are loud, messy, overwhelming, and busy in the way real life often is — especially as a mom trying to balance creativity, responsibilities, dreams, work, family life, and the constant mental tabs that never seem to fully close.
But honestly, I think that balance between chaos and calm is exactly what shaped Aurora Butterfly into what it is today.
Because creativity became more than just a hobby for me.
It became an emotional escape.
A way to slow my thoughts down.
A way to breathe.
A way to reconnect with softness when life felt heavy.
And that’s where colouring found such a meaningful place in my life.
Not as something perfect.
Not as something serious.
But as something comforting.
Something peaceful.
Something gentle.
A quiet little reminder that creativity does not need to be productive to matter.
Aurora Butterfly was born from that feeling.
It’s not just a colouring brand to me.
It’s a peaceful little world built for people who crave calm, imagination, mindfulness, cozy creativity, and emotional rest.
For the overwhelmed moms.
The dreamers.
The fantasy lovers.
The anxious hearts.
The people who feel deeply.
The people searching for softness in a noisy world.
Every book, page, idea, and creative concept I make is created with that emotional feeling in mind.
I want people to sit down with one of my colouring books and feel like they’ve stepped into a tiny peaceful escape for a little while.
A warm cup of tea after a hard day.
A quiet evening under soft lighting.
A cozy exhale.
A moment to simply exist without pressure.
And because I believe in honesty and authenticity, I also want to openly share something important about my creative process.
Yes — I do use AI as part of my workflow.
But I think there’s a huge misconception online that using AI means pressing a button and instantly creating something meaningful with no thought, care, or artistry involved.
For me, it’s actually the opposite.
The process behind Aurora Butterfly is incredibly intentional and meticulous.
I spend hours developing ideas, refining concepts, adjusting details, guiding styles, curating aesthetics, correcting inconsistencies, improving quality, building themes, creating emotional atmosphere, and making sure every single page feels aligned with the heart of the brand.
AI is simply one of the creative tools I use — much like an artist may use different brushes, programs, or mediums.
But the vision, emotion, storytelling, aesthetic direction, cozy atmosphere, and heart behind Aurora Butterfly always come from me.
Every collection is thoughtfully guided with deep care and creativity because I never want my books to feel mass-produced or soulless.
I want them to feel warm.
Immersive.
Comforting.
Magical.
Human.
And honestly, I think creativity is evolving in such beautiful ways.
I believe technology and imagination can work together to create art that still feels deeply emotional and meaningful when it’s guided intentionally and thoughtfully.
Aurora Butterfly is still growing, still evolving, and still becoming what I dream it can be someday.
But at its heart, it will always remain the same:
